my md put me on Januvia, stating it would help with blood sugars and would increase my Weight Loss. what are peoples experiences?
please don’t answer a question i am not asking. I want to know peoples experience with this medication. I am very well versed in how to manage my diabetes.

Januvia requires the presence of food in your digestive tract to work. By blocking an enzyme it effective allows your pancrease to release more insulin to breakdown the food as well as reducing the amount of sugar your liver produces. It is good for reducing your post-prandial (after eating) blood sugar readings. As for Weigh Loss, the clinical trials do not show any weight loss. Byetta (twice a day before meals) and Victoza (once a day) are two medications that have proven weight loss benefits for diabetic patients. Both of those are shots though but the shots are painless.
