I have anemia and iron deficiency have a question about food?

I have 14 years of age. My mother and I are going to the doctor tomorrow to a checkup. Anyway, my doctor says I should eat better and have more iron in my diet. Yes .. ok? What's that supposed to mean? (He also told me to eat a small portion of red meat .. uh .. I do not eat red meat, so I guess it is a problem) It gave me an iron supplement suggestions, too. So yesterday, I had to eat in the afternoon (1:40, is the moment I wake up .. I sleep a lot ..) a banana, a cereal fiber and vanilla yogurt. Snack (4:00): Wheat Thins, slice of cheese and a glass of milk Dinner (6:15): Fish fillet + i cup whole-wheat pasta with parmesan cheese. This is for people who know or atleast research, please? I asked my mother and she said it was good, but I know the opinion of others. Thanks for your help:)
