Are there any states that help children with disabilities who have medical expenses?

I live in Florida now and receiving SSI. Receives Medicaid also because of this. There is a ceiling on how we can do much more than a month. My husband has a job interview tomorrow and is afraid to go, because if work he does put us at the border. We want to better ourselves, but do not know what to do. I tryed to get private insurance, but was told by anyone to take preexisting condition. I tryed to put on the testimony of my group work and will cost me $ 600 a month, not to mention all the co-payments and the cost of supplies to be have on a daily basis. While there are states that are better than others? Have a suggestion? Thanks
